Chris Lee

Chris Lee, the founder of Chris Lee & Partner, established the company in 1985 as sharebrokers and financial advisers, leveraging his extensive background in capital markets.

With a wealth of experience in the finance industry, Chris is renowned for his expertise in fixed interest. Prior to forming the current company, he spent eight years (1977-1985) in the New Zealand finance industry, holding significant roles such as assistant general manager of General Finance Ltd and general manager of General Bills Ltd, a merchant bank. These companies were later acquired by UDC in 1988. Before that, Chris spent three years in London, serving as an assistant financial controller at Lonrho, a multinational investment company.

In addition to his financial acumen, Chris Lee has established himself as a reputable business columnist. He wrote a syndicated business column for 17 years, published in various newspapers across different parts of New Zealand. Currently, the column is featured as a client newsletter on the company's website every Thursday night.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Chris has been actively involved as a trustee of Parkwood Trust since 1987. Parkwood Trust is one of New Zealand's largest and most esteemed retirement villages, and Chris served as its chairman for two decades. In this unpaid position, he contributed his leadership and expertise to benefit the community trust in Waikanae.

Clients have the opportunity to meet with Chris in various locations, including Paraparaumu, Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland. Additionally, he accommodates client requests for visits to other areas.
